Terms of Service
Effective October 15, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of trustaltus.com (the "Site"), operated by Altus Commercial Receivables ("Altus," "we," "us"). By using the Site or submitting any form on it, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the Site on behalf of a company, you agree to these Terms for that company and confirm you are authorized to do so. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
Use of the site
The Site is provided for business users to learn about Altus's services, request a demo, place accounts, refer clients, and access published resources. You agree to use it only for lawful purposes and not to misuse it — including attempting to gain unauthorized access, interfering with normal operation, scraping it with automated tools, or submitting false or misleading information through any form.
Altus is not a law firm
Altus is a commercial receivables management and collection agency, not a law firm, and does not provide legal advice. When an account requires legal action, Altus may refer it, with the client's approval, to independent attorneys who are licensed in the relevant jurisdiction and who exercise their own professional judgment. No attorney-client relationship is created between you and Altus, or between you and any attorney, by using the Site.
Account placements
Submitting an account through the Site does not by itself create a service agreement. Recovery services are governed by a separate client services agreement, which controls if it conflicts with these Terms. By placing an account, you represent and warrant that:
- The debt is a commercial (business-purpose) obligation, not a consumer debt incurred primarily for personal, family, or household purposes. Altus does not accept consumer debts through the Site; if you are unsure, contact us before placing the account.
- You are authorized by your company to place the account and to share the debtor information and documents you submit, and doing so does not violate any law or agreement.
- To the best of your knowledge, the information provided is accurate and complete, the debt is valid and owed, and you have disclosed any known dispute, bankruptcy filing, or prior settlement affecting it.
- Any personal guarantee or other document you upload was lawfully obtained, and you have the right to share it with Altus for collection purposes.
Partner referrals
If you refer a company to Altus, you represent that you are authorized to share the contact information you submit and that the referred contacts may be contacted by Altus about its services. A referral does not create any agency, partnership, or compensation arrangement unless set out in a separate written agreement.
Text messages
If you opt in to text messages, Altus will send messages about the matter you opted in for (for example, an account you placed) to the number you provided. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel at any time and HELP for help, or contact us using the details below. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase or service.
Recorded communications
Calls to phone numbers displayed on the Site and live-chat conversations may be recorded, transcribed, and summarized, including with automated tools, for quality, training, and routing purposes, as described in our Privacy Policy. By continuing a call or chat after the notice, you consent to this.
Performance figures and testimonials
Recovery rates, timelines, and other performance figures on the Site are historical averages across Altus's commercial portfolio for the periods measured. Results on any individual account depend on factors such as the debt's age, documentation, and the debtor's financial condition, and are not guaranteed. Client testimonials reflect the experiences of individual clients, are identified by initials to protect client confidentiality, and are not a promise of similar results.
Resource Center content
Articles, guides, benchmark reports, playbooks, and other content in the Resource Center are for general information only and are not legal, financial, or professional advice for your situation. Statutes, regulations, and thresholds referenced (including statutes of limitations and lien-filing deadlines) change and vary by jurisdiction — confirm current requirements with qualified counsel before relying on them.
Gated downloads
Benchmark reports, playbooks, and certain guides are made available in exchange for your name and business email. By requesting one, you agree that we may send you the requested file and follow up about related services; every marketing email includes an opt-out.
Intellectual property
All content on the Site — text, graphics, photographs, video, logos, and the underlying design and platform — is owned by Altus or its licensors and protected by intellectual-property law. Photographs may show models and are for illustration only. You may view and download content for your internal business reference, but may not reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works from it without prior written permission. Altus, Altus Connect, and related marks are trademarks of Altus; other marks belong to their owners.
Copyright complaints
If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, send a notice to info@altusrm.com (subject: "Copyright notice") identifying the work, the content and its URL, your contact information, a statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized, and a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act for the owner, with your physical or electronic signature.
Third-party links and services
The Site links to and embeds third-party resources — such as maps, scheduling, chat, and external organizations referenced on location pages. Altus does not control and is not responsible for their content or practices, and your use of them is subject to their own terms.
Disclaimers
The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Altus and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, arising from your use of the Site or reliance on its content, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Site will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100). This section does not limit liability under a signed client services agreement, which is governed by its own terms.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Altus and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, any inaccurate representation you make when placing an account or referral, or your misuse of the Site.
Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, consistent with Altus Commercial Receivables's headquarters in Metairie, LA. Any dispute relating to the Site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Louisiana, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Altus about the Site. We may update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be posted here with a new effective date, and continued use of the Site after that date means you accept the updated Terms.
